S.M. Tanveer
Mr. S. M. Tanveer took over the rein of KATI in 2022 as Patron-in-Chief after the sad demise of his father Late Mr. S. M. Muneer to continue his legacy, as unanimously decided by Executive Committee of KATI. Patron-in-Chief is a very important honorary position in any trade body as he is responsible for the harmony to run smoothly the operations of it and acts as supreme leader. And no doubt, Mr. S. M. Tanveer fits on this criteria.
He is a prominent businessman and associated with textile, energy and food related businesses. He is also very active in various social and philanthropic activities and enthusiastic about human development based on character.
He was also associated with Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company as a Chairman and served as Chairman APTMA Punjab Zone. At present, he is CEO of Din Textile Mills Limited.
Furthermore, S. M. Tanveer established Din Leather (Private) Limited, a top exporting firm of finished leather in Pakistan with an annual turnover of approximately $28.8 million. He also founded Din Developers, a real estate and construction business, and Din Farms Products (Private) Limited, a poultry farming company.
M. Tanveer’s contributions to the textile industry have been recognized by various organizations. Din Leather (Private) Limited received the Best Export Performance & Special Merit Trophies from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in Karachi for the years 1979, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, and 1989 for the highest exports. The International Export Association, UK, also awarded the Gold Medallion Award to Din Leather (Private) Limited in recognition of its export achievements. Din Textile Mills Limited has been awarded “The Top 25 Companies Award” twice by the Karachi Stock Exchange in 2000 and 2001. Furthermore, S. M. Tanveer has received the Gold Medal and Certificate of Excellence in 2013 from the Chief Minister of Punjab for his meritorious services as Chairman of Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company, promoting industrialization in the province. The Prime Minister of Pakistan presented an award in 2013 in recognition of his services to the textile industry as Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, Punjab Zone.
Apart from his business achievements, S. M. Tanveer has held various positions in other organizations. He was a member of the Managing Committee of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), Punjab Zone from 1996 to 1997, Vice Chairman from 1997 to 1998, Senior Vice Chairman from 1998 to 2000, and Member of Central Managing Committee from 1998 to 2000. He was also a Founder Member (2004 – 2007) and President (2004 – 2005) of Entrepreneur Organization (EO), Pakistan Chapter. Furthermore, he served as a Director of Punjab Social Security Health Management Company (PSSHMC).
In conclusion, S. M. Tanveer is a highly accomplished businessman with a successful career in the textile industry. He has established various successful companies and achieved many notable accomplishments. His contributions to the textile industry have been recognized by various organizations, and his business acumen and leadership have led to the growth and success of his companies.
